Who It’s For

Why Do This Course

Start Fresh In Payroll

Payroll is a job you can learn from the beginning. You start with the fundamentals, then run pay templates, pay runs and filing in both Xero and MYOB.

Upskill For Your Current Role

Already in accounts or admin? Take payroll off someone else's desk. Employment law, leave requests, payslips and payday filing are all covered here.

Study Around Your Life

It is online and self paced, with no exams, ever. You get 18 months of access and unlimited tutor support in business hours, so the study bends around your week.

Where The Skills Fit

Where These Skills Could Take You

Every business with staff has to pay them, on time and filed correctly. The work is easy to picture: setting up new starters, keying the leave, running the pay, and sending the filing away before the deadline.

Payroll Officer

Running the pay cycle end to end for a business, in Xero or MYOB. That is the core of this pathway.

Payroll Administrator

New starters, leave requests, pay templates and payslips. The daily admin behind the pay run.

Accounts Administration Officer

Payables, receivables and cash management alongside the pay, which is how it works in most small teams.

Finance Administrator

The wider desk: GST, budgets, reporting and reconciliations, using the same software.

HR Payroll Assistant

Where payroll meets people. The employment law grounding here is the part HR teams look for.

Roles where these skills are useful, not promised outcomes. Every role is different, and some need more study or experience. Compliance and coordinator titles usually go to people with payroll experience behind them.

Why This One

What Makes It Different

Here is what stands out in this pathway.

01
Payroll In Both Systems

A full course in Xero Payroll and another in MYOB Business Payroll. Most job ads name one or the other, and you walk in knowing both.

02
The Filing Side, Not Just The Pay Run

Payday filing, payroll reporting and filing obligations are covered directly. That is the part that gets an employer in trouble when it goes wrong.

03
Accounts Work Sits Around It

Accounts payable, receivable and cash management, GST, budgeting and reporting. Payroll rarely comes on its own in a small team.

Good to Know

Common Questions

Do I need experience to start?

None needed. The pathway opens with accounting and bookkeeping fundamentals, then walks into payroll. It suits people coming in fresh as much as people already on an accounts desk.

What does it cost each week?

The payment plan is $29 a week, with no deposit and no credit check. You can pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly, or pay upfront. Enquire for the full options.

How long does the course take?

Around 400 hours at your own pace, with 18 months of access. There are no set class times, so it fits around work and family.

Do I learn Xero payroll or MYOB payroll?

Both, as separate courses. You cover setup, pay runs, payslips and filing in each, so you are not locked out of a job because the employer runs the other one.

Are there exams?

There are none, ever. You are assessed through case studies and practical work, with tutor support behind you.

Is this course accredited?

It is accredited by ICOES and the CPD Standards Office, which is accreditation for professional development. It is not NZQA accredited, so it is not a national qualification. That is a different thing. For payroll and accounts work it is no barrier: what employers look for is whether you can run a pay cycle and file it correctly.

Can I get my money back if it is not for me?

Yes. There is a 10-day money back guarantee. If it is not right, you get your money back.
