Who It’s For

Why Do This Course

Get Into Wellness Work

Spas, retreats and therapy rooms all want people who know oils and know the limits. You start at plant naming and finish knowing which oils are safe on which person. That is the part an employer cares about.

Add A Service To What You Already Do

If you are in a salon or a therapy room now, aromatherapy is a service you can bolt on. Blends, carriers and safe use are the whole of it, and clients notice when a treatment is built around them.

Study Around Work And Family

It is online, at your own pace, with no exams and no set class times. Around 80 hours, with 6 months of access, so you can do a topic on a quiet night and come back to it.

Where The Skills Fit

Where These Skills Could Take You

Aromatherapy sits inside the wider wellness trade: day spas, retreats, therapy clinics and beauty rooms. The work is easy to picture. Mixing a blend for a client, talking her through what is in it, and knowing which oils to keep away from her.

Aromatherapist Assistant

Working under a practitioner, mixing and preparing, learning the client side on the floor.

Complementary Therapy Support Worker

Clinics that offer several therapies want someone who understands the oils side of the room.

Spa Therapist Assistant

Spa treatments lean on blends and carriers. Knowing the safe use rules matters more here than anywhere.

Beauty Therapist Assistant

Salons add aromatherapy to facials and massage. It is a service you can bring in with you.

Retreat Facilitator Assistant

Retreats run on small teams. Someone who can prepare blends and explain them is worth having.

Roles where these skills are useful, not promised outcomes. Every role is different, and some need more study or experience. Massage therapy and clinical natural health advice both sit behind separate hands-on training.

Why This One

What Makes It Different

Here is what stands out in this course.

02
Safety Gets Its Own Topics

Safe use of essential oils and hazardous herbs and oils are two of the eight topics. Blending for someone else is a different job from blending for yourself, and this is the part that makes it one.

Good to Know

Common Questions

Do I need experience to start?

None needed. The course opens with plant naming and an introduction to aromatherapy. It suits people already in beauty or wellness work, and people who have only ever used oils at home.

What does it cost each week?

From $29 a week on a flexible payment plan. You can also pay upfront in one payment. Enquire for the current options.

How long does it take?

Around 80 hours at your own pace, with 6 months of course access. There are no set class times, so it fits around work and family.

Are there exams?

There are none, ever. You work through the topics online. Your tutor is there during business hours when you get stuck.

Does it cover the safety side?

Yes, and it gets two of the eight topics. Safe use of essential oils covers dilution and who each oil suits. Hazardous herbs and oils covers what to keep off a client altogether.

Is this course accredited?

It is accredited by ICOES and the CPD Standards Office. That is accreditation for professional development. It is not NZQA accredited, so it is not a national qualification. Those are two different things. For spa, salon and retreat work it is no barrier, because what you are judged on is the blend and how you handle the client.

Can I get my money back if it is not for me?

Yes. There is a 10-day money back guarantee. If it is not right, you get your money back.
