Who It’s For

Why Do This Course

Know Your Way Around Xero

If you already touch the accounts at work, this closes the gaps. Chart of accounts, contacts, invoices, bills and the bank reconciliation, set up the way they should be.

Put A Wanted Skill On Your CV

Xero turns up in job ads across accounts and admin. You finish with a certificate and access to Xero's own Advisor Certification.

Do Your Own Books

Running something yourself? This is the practical way to take the books off someone else's desk and know the numbers are right.

Where The Skills Fit

Where These Skills Could Take You

Small businesses everywhere run their books in Xero, and someone has to drive it. The work is easy to picture: raising the invoices, coding the bills, matching the bank feed, and pulling the report the owner asks for.

Xero Operator

Driving the software day to day, from invoices through to the bank feed.

Bookkeeping Assistant

The entries and the reconciliation, with someone senior checking the month.

Accounts Payable Clerk

Bills in, coded and paid, with the supplier contacts kept tidy.

Accounts Receivable Clerk

Invoices out and money chased, matched off as it lands.

Finance Assistant

The support seat on a finance team, where Xero is the tool on the desk.

Roles where these skills are useful, not promised outcomes. Every role is different, and some need more study or experience. Bookkeeping roles usually want the accounting basics behind the software too.

Good to Know

Common Questions

Do I need experience to start?

None needed. You do not need accounting behind you, and you do not need to have opened Xero before. It starts at the beginning and builds from there.

What does it cost each week?

The payment plan is $29 a week, with no deposit and no credit check. You can pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly, or pay upfront in one payment. Enquire for the full options.

How long does the course take?

Around 15 hours at your own pace, with 6 months of access. Most people are through it well inside that.

Do I get the Xero Advisor Certification?

Yes. Finishing the course opens access to Xero's official Advisor Certification. You get that as well as your Certificate of Achievement. The college is a Xero Partner, which is how that access comes.

Do I get CPD hours?

Yes. You earn 15 continuing professional development hours on completion, alongside your Certificate of Achievement.

What if I get busy after I enrol?

The course is online and self paced. There are no fixed class times. You fit it around work and family, then pick it back up when things settle down.

Are there exams?

There are none, ever. You are assessed on what you understand, with tutor support behind you.

Is this course accredited?

It is accredited by ICOES and the CPD Standards Office, which is accreditation for professional development. It is not NZQA accredited, so it is not a national qualification. That is a different thing. For Xero work it is no barrier: employers hire on whether you can run the file and reconcile it.

Can I get my money back if it is not for me?

Yes. There is a 10-day money back guarantee. If it is not right, you get your money back.
